Except for the murder, 90% of the people where I come from live like this! Cousins marrying each (1st cousins too), houses full of random relatives just yelling out their opinions, spineless women, ovely alpha men, fighting about inheritance. When I read about this book I thought, Ah! How refreshing! finally a romance book with a REALISTIC setting! You guys thought this was over the top? I don't know why I hated it so much, but I did, and next time I reread this I'll probably be skipping all that first part and starting when Roanna shows up at the bar. I think Kristie hits on why--Roanna IS the wimpiest of heroines, doormat of doormats, and you feel like she needs someone with Webb's strength to love and protect her, so Webb needs to be almost too alpha. Though I agree I'd have liked to see Roanna lose it, just once with the rest of the pathetic family.
