I got this one despite the cover (which I think is yucckers! You’re right Russ could totally take this guy) ’cause it was just so different and such a refreshing change from you’r English historical. I haven’t read it yet though.

Actually, the scan looks better than the actual cover. The background is all slashy, like someone playing around with a cheap photo program.

“The Gladiator’s Honor: The Movie” starring William H. Macy as The Gladiator.

I actually like the cover art on this one — it’s a lot more atmostpheric and less paint-by-numbers than a lot of others. However, I’m confused by the letter pi appearing in the last word of the title. It looks like HOPOR. What’s strange about this cover is how passive and open his stance is. It’s like they’re implying that he’s already killed all the other gladiators and he’s about to throw down his sword.

I don’t mind the cover so much — I have a thing for guys eith auburn hair — but the tag line KILLS me. “One last fight — to claim his woman!” Complete with exclamation point! Yow!
