Bam, this is definitely where you and I diverge. I cannot stand slasher/horror films. Ugh. Give me a great psychological thriller any day. But blood? Gore? I’m not interested. However, I’ve seen the poster. I agree with Laura, it looks like a cheap cut of meat…and makes me think of brisket. Mmmm…Mommy’s brisket. YUMMY!

Hmmm. Perhaps the intention is something much grosser, but that pic is just some beef or lamb. The closeup is kind of brisket-y, or perhaps just shank meat. A cheaper cut for sure; look at the amount of silverskin, tendon, and uneven marbling.

Oh, like I would know. When meat comes to me, it’s been cooked… and pleasantly garnished!

Knowing Eli Roth’s type of films… and because I have seen Hostel more than once and can guess how fucked up homeboy can get… I’m going to reveal the first thing that popped into my head as soon as I saw the poster…

Mick, did you hear about those rumors that the producers of Soprano are interested in turning Preacher into a series? It was in development hell for a while with James Marsden in the lead (Cyclops? WTF?), but the project is dead in the water now… but with HBO supposedly interested in it… Dude, how awesome would it be if Captain Tightpants played Jesse Custer?

Me, I’m not a fan of Hostel-type movies (Saw, Wolf Creek, whatever). Which is odd, because I love stuff like PREACHER — but you put it into live-action and I’m just … bleh. And I love me some violence in movies, and horror, so I don’t know what it is.

You know once it’s all just a lot of flesh and gristle it’s just meat. Gross but not scary. But gross, which isn’t as interesting as scary.
