I saw the previews for Blood and Chocolate and if it wasn’t for the fact that I’ve read the book I think I would have been more excited. When I go see it I’m just going in thinking of it as something else entirely with just the same name. The story line’s changed and it’s not even set in America anymore.

Hahaha, seeing your rebuttal in print made me realize I sound a lot more like my mother than I had realized. Egads!

Personally I am into fantasy as much as romance. And I love how it seems the world is there, and the people are molded by it. I hate reading a story that the world building is only used to facilitate the sex. I personally love multiple partner stories, but can not get totally absorbed if I feel it is being spoon-fed to me.

Katie Ann, I have seen the previews and I gotta say, they depressed me a little. When the announcer guy says, “from the producers of Underworld and Underworld 2,” I don’t exactly get warm in the pants. I don’t care how hot Scott Speedman was in those movies.

Bammie - i guess i’ll be the lone perv here and say i loves a good threesome story and loves it ALOT.

Rhian, I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. I’m just saying that shit is beginning to be ubiquitous and too trendy. It seems everyone is doing it. It’s a frickin’ bandwagon. I will echo my homegirls Meljean and Candy and say it’s all good if it’s well done and integral to the storytelling. I don’t want that shit popping out of nowhere WHEN IT SERVES NO PURPOSE. The heroine will die if she doesn’t get two dicks in her at the same time, you say? THEN FUCKING MAKE IT WORK. You better make that shit sound like Anaïs Nin wrote it and not something Ron Jeremy would wipe his ass with.

Bammie - i guess i’ll be the lone perv here and say i loves a good threesome story and loves it ALOT. Most likely because it will never happen in my life so i’ll only ever be able to enjoy it vicariously. Y’all can blame Lauren, she set me on my road to perviness with Triad. Man, i love her stuff. And i liked the anthology here, though it only took like a few hours to read. (Write longer stories you writers, dagnabit.)

I’ve read two of these when they were released separately (Fever and Perfection) and really enjoyed both of them.

I don’t mind group sex as long as it actually fits in the story and the characters. But if it ends up detracting from the romance (hell, anything in the plot that doesn’t convince me the romance is going to work) I’m not so thrilled about it.

As I read your rant (actually, I liked Helen M’s “rantlet”) I laugh. LAUGH! I recall a similar rantlet regarding A Witch in Time, in which a gratuitous group sex scene seemed to be thrown into the end of the story. I hear ya Bam. However, I’m buying this. That’s quite a grade!
