Oh No They Got to Her Too!

Dudes, allow me to totally geek out for a few seconds here. I’m a huge JLA fan and when I saw this cover, it totally reminded me of that episode where Superman gets pissed at Doomsday and zaps him on the forehead with his laser vision, effectively lobotomizing him. It flashes to Arkham and there were all these lobotomized former villains, just wandering around all dazed and shit, with dead fish-eyes. Man, that episode was creepy. If you’re a JLA geek too, holla at yo gurl!

Anyway, I just didn’t think the Justice Lords would get Michelle Pfeiffer too. Bastards. She was awesome in Dangerous Minds, you monsters! Oh man, don’t you love her hair? I can totally see how she styled it too. With a comb, she took the front of her hair, swept it off to the side, and went batshit crazy with her can of Aquanet. Then she did for the other side. That’s so 80s! Man, maybe she even used a pick on that thing. Damn, look at that jaw, though. So manly. Yet the purple eyes tell you she’s totally girly… and maybe she’s got speshul powers too, who knows. Maybe she heals with her vagina. That’s a possibility too! I can’t decide though if she’s wearing a turtleneck or if the skin on her neck just doesn’t match her face. Man, the bitch put on too much foundation. YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO BLEND, DUMMY! Anyway, maybe she should lay off the Aquanet. Her hair is seriously fried. Maybe she should get herself to a salon and get a hot-oil treatment, stat!

Thanks to Marumae for the cover!

Total JLA fangirl here!! I got season two of regular JLA and season one of JLA Unlimited for Christmas (mom didn’t realize there were two different show titles, doh!). I love the Justice Lords arc. Dude, morally corrupt Superman? HOT. Wasn’t so fond of Butch Lesbian Diana, but hey, she’s Wonder Woman so I’d still be her lesbian love slave. Also, did you know that the producers of unlimited were apparently Firefly fans? Black Canary = Inara, Vixen = Zoe and Vigilante = Mal. I was full of the fangirl glee when I found that out. Too bad Vigilante wasn’t a regular character. But still, AWESOME. I need to watch the series again and indulge in full on fangirl bliss. To bad fucking school interferes with my cartoon viewing. Bastards.

It’s great to know that Carol Alt is still working. That’s her on the cover, right?

You know I’m all about JLA, girl. I just wish I could get to see the Warlord episode (he was my very first comics crush, as a wee girl). I always catch the end credits, and it feels like it will be years before it comes out on DVD. Even though it’s actually only like 2 months now. Sigh.

Ok… you guys… total geek-out moment here… my favorite JLA episode of all time is when Mordred turned all of the JLAs into kids. AWWWW… wondergirl chasing around batboy trying to kiss him! *swoon* and how much did you love the tape that held green lantern’s Urkel glasses?

Seton, I concur. that DOES look like Carol Alt. Crazy.

Oh Bam! That episode is my favorite one too!

I’ve been a comic geek for a very long time, ::cough:: I’ll be 50 this Sunday ::cough:: and JLA cartoons are my favorite incarnation yet. I hooked my oldest son on comics too, just so I would have somebody to geek out with. Now I watch with my grandsons.

I swear, I never thought I would be as old as I am watching cartoons.

The JLA as kids episode friggin’ ROCKS Bam! I loved Green Lantern’s energy mech thing. It was so the kind of thing a guy who grew up watching Tranformers would make. Also the Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, Vixen love triangle? HOT.
