The Cyborg and the Mommy

[fake blurb alert!]

A Girl With a Dream
Mindy Jones is an Internet entertainer. That means she takes off her clothes and jiggles her goodies in front of a webcam for any fat geek with a credit card. A former prom queen and the most popular girl in school, Mindy’s charmed life took a downturn the day she graduated from high school. Ditching her high school sweetheart, Mindy moved to Hollywood with aspirations of becoming a soap opera star only to find out that the world won’t be kind to a pretty girl with nothing but a body for sinning and a saucy wink to her name. As it turns out, modeling and stripping aren’t the same thing. When she finds herself pregnant and abandoned by her boyfriend-slash-”manager”, Mindy decides to go back to her hometown to start over.

A Man in Pain
Hunter Tyler was head over heels in love with Mindy Jones, the most beautiful girl in school. He was ready to give her the world… until the day she walked out of his life. In his grief, Hunter moved to Chicago to become a cop. He was the best police officer the force had ever seen… until the day he was riddled with bullets while trying to save a house full of orphans from a Colombian drug cartel. Unable to let go of the Best Policeman Ever, the chief of police volunteers Hunter for the “Robocop” program. Though he appears to be a perfectly normal albeit ridiculously good-looking man on the outside, inside Hunter Tyler is an amalgamation of organic man-parts and cybernetic technology… a machine. A machine that no woman could ever love. On the run from government scientists who want to experiment on him and his own demons, Hunter returns to his hometown where he is now… the sheriff.

Brought Together by Fate and Circumstance
Mindy needs a father for her son. Hunter needs a wife as a part of his disguise. Both decide it will be a marriage in name only. But logic is a stranger to love and desire and Hunter realizes he still wants Mindy more than ever. Will Hunter be able to see his distrust for Mindy to love her again? Will a small-town life and a life with Hunter be enough for Mindy this time? Will the two of them fall in love even if it’s not… convenient?

You kids may thank the lovely Amber for this cover.

P.S. I swear to God, people, if you use the plot above (and please, feel free to do so for my amusement), you better give me credit.

The first thing that comes to my mind is: is his, uh, part metallic?

And the second thing: I’d buy this series if it’s called “Donald Trump’s Bastards” instead of some pretentious “The Illegitimate Heirs”. What kind of title is that?

    Or should we say…a manchine.

I’m not opposed to metallic parts. I cried over The Silver Metal Lover.

Shut up, you bitches! Now THAT was a romance, done old school.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world’s first bionic man. Steve Austin Hunter Tyler will be that man. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster. (Hopefully that “faster” bit doesn’t apply to certain activities, nudge nudge, wink wink.)

Yeah. Me too. I didn’t like Metallic Lover as much, though. It felt like… adultery.

I wonder how Hunter Tyler feels about having two trendy first names as his name.

Yep. I wish she hadn’t written the sequel. Some things are perfect just the way they are. But I expect she’s got a cat to feed or something.

Why do I see telescoping robo-penis?

When Mrs. G said his “part” I actually went back and looked at his hair. BACK IN THE GUTTER, BRAIN!

Speaking of “parts,” Shuz, check out his receding hairline. You’d think a world that has the technology to fuse man and robot parts together would be able to fix male-pattern baldness.

Poor Hunter Tyler. Say, I just noticed this: Doesn’t he look like a taller, leaner Chris O’Donnell with a fivehead?

Hilarious. This was so good I was compelled to look up the official blurb on this. And guess what, the hero’s name in the actual book IS Hunter. I guess there only so many names that are appropriate for a man wearing mirrored sunglasses. I’d rather read your version, though.

Your gift of getting the story from the cover has failed you this time.”She’s dead, Jim!” That divine glow behind her tells it all. He is her guardian angel and he has come to take her home. “But there is so much I still want to do! Like get this kid outta me! Who wants to be preggers for eternity?” So, she gets to go back and do it right this time, I swear I will. And he will be there helping her. But she won’t remember who he is. But he seems so familiar, but that’s not possible, is it? Oh, somebody stop me, I can’t stop myself…
