Happy Trails, Annie Dean!

Annie Dean Our good friend Annie Dean has been helping us (Shuzluva and I) with book reviews (esp. e-books) for the past few months and for that we think she’s wonderful (she’s wonderful for other reasons, but the reviewing was one of our favorites. ha ha). She can’t review for us anymore, but we here at It’s Not Chick Porn wish her the best of luck and hope she comes back again to visit soon. Like on Monday. Her parting words:

I’m no longer doing reviews. Why? Well, a couple of reasons — I want to devote my reading time to stuff I choose to read. Reading for review is weird because quite often if I hadn’t promised a review, I’d just discard the book because it’s bad or boring or whatever. In addition to that, my time is going to be at a premium, going forward. Lots of deadlines.

She will be reviewing the ebooks she has on queue… and then… *puts arm to forehead* NEVER AGAIN! :) So if you email Annie your ebook, you’ll probably get uh, “Yeah… no. Thanks. Bye-bye”. So don’t. Seriously.

    There will be four more forthcoming. That’s how many I have in queue. And Dee said I can still review books now and then if one really rocks my world.

    But no more Ann(ie) on demand.

    I know exactly how she feels. There will come a time when I don’t do review requests either, the minute I know I have to do something, my inclination to do it, goes right down.

    Although, it must be said, I’m crap at reviewing on request anyway.

    Annie, I’m glad you still have four in your queue. I told Bam no reviews until after the exam. And she made me swear that I’d go back to reviewing. I miss pleasure reading, so I’m not complaining!

    Sorry to see Annie stop reviewing, but yay because the reason is she’s busy writing! I lurved the Average Girl’s Guide and can’t wait to see more! =)

    (Wait. Annie is retiring from reviews. Miss Snark is retiring, period. And to date, no one has ever seen Annie and Miss Snark in the same room at the same time.)

    But I don’t wear stilettos, drink gin, or have a crush on George Clooney. Sorry.

    I once wrote Miss Snark an email, though:

    I know your secret.

    Mrs Giggles is really grandmother Snark, living in Malaysia! After reading some of her reviews and seeing her copious use of the word ‘nitwit’ I see that she cannot be anyone else.

    My silence will cost two shiny stones and a limerick. ;)
