Help Your Gurl Out!

Miss Shiloh Walker has asked me to guest-blog for Vamps and Scamps on August 20th in order to help me promote the release of Skin to Skin. Too bad I’m totally horrible at coming up with stuff to blog about (no joke). I asked Shiloh to help me and she suggested I ask you guys to come up with interview questions for me. Is there anything about me you’ve always wanted to know but were afraid to ask? Heh. Help me out and post them in the comments section. When my post comes up on Vamps and Scamps, stop by for a chance to win a $15 GC to Amazon and a free download of Skin to Skin. It’ll be good times, I promise.

Oh, and keep it PG, kids. I will not answer any questions like what I would do to Jensen Ackles if I were to come home and found him tied up and gagged on my bed. Or what kind of ice-cream I would want to lick off from Jared Padalecki’s abs. Or what I would say if Justin Hartley asked me to have a threesome with him and Tom Welling.

I grabbed these questions from The Book of Questions. :)

Question #14: Would you rather be extremely successful professionally and have a tolerable yet unexciting private life, or have an extremely happy private life and only a tolerable and uninspiring professional life?

Question #152: What do you value most in a relationship?

Question #209: If you could script the basic plot of the dream you will have tonight, what would the story be?

Question #213: What would you like to be doing five years from now? What do you think you will be doing five years from now?

Or pick a number from 1 to 217, and I’ll give you the corresponding question. ;)

    1. What one piece of writing advice would you most want to give other would-be authors in the genre?

    2. What one piece of writing-as-a-business advice would you most want to give other would-be authors in the genre?

(You’ve read so many books, and talked to so many authors, that I can’t help thinking you’d have some interesting and useful things to say!)

I want you to tell about your stint as a movie stand-in (for lighting purposes). I’m sure everyone would be interested in hearing about that.

What truly motivated you to finally get a move on and get writing? I believe you’ve said you’d dabbled before, but lately you seem to be going full bore. Wha’d ya do to change?

How do you feel about Vegemite? Also, have you ever eaten a Nutella sandwich? What did you think?

It’s 50 years in the future and the only thing you regret in life is an unfortunate tattoo on your ass. What does the tattoo say and why?

Damn, I want to answer Gwen’s question now. Heh.

Awesome questions, people. Keep ‘em coming.

Crunchy or Smooth? Jif or Peter Pan?

  13. Lorelie
    13

Jif? Peter Pan? You left off Skippy! The best one, imho.

  14. Gwen
    14

Well, it was Peter Pan for me before the recent botullism debacle. Now it’s Jif Jif Jif.

    Skippy! Blech.

Your all wrong! The answer is Smucker’s Goober strawberry jam flavor.
    PBJ no waiting.

If you could be any romance book female lead who would it be and which book (if it’s a series)?

What book has the best romance cover you have seen?

Why not talk about a sense of humor and well snarkage in stories and novels? It’s something you kick ass in!

Because Shiloh is going to have too much fun picking out the questions for her to answer. ;o)

Dionne, I forgot, I did come here for the first time last week! So its my second visit here!

Here’s what I’d love to ask you:

If you had a dinner at your home and you could invite any 3 authors (or more) from the past or present, who would you like to invite, how have they inspired you in being a writer, what one question do you want to ask them and finally if you’d like, what would you serve them? Your favorite meal to cook is?

    Thanks!

Cathie - Bam would probably break out a tape measurer and have them drop their pants.

Oh wait - that’s what I’d do. Sorry, Bam.

I`m curious, what`s the one thing you would never write? It can cover anything from a sexual situation to a plot too done to just something you wouldn`t want to tackle. Whatever. And re: Ackles, etc - as if we can`t imagine ;) .

Whats BAM? Sorry I don’t understand the commet regarding the question I posted. Thanks.

Bam = Dionne Galace. Not sure where it comes from…

  23. HelenKay
    23

How about: Why do you love HelenKay? How much do you love HelenKay? Oh, wait….too much HelenKay, maybe?

And, how do you get Bam from Dionne Galace. Good question, Gwen!

Marta Acosta interviewed me and asked what my heroine’s song lyrics would be. I found that to be an evil question, so I pass it on to you to answer for SKIN TO SKIN.

I also wonder if there is a subgenre you’re dying to write in - witches, vampires, Urban Fantasy etc - and if so, what is it and are you going to try it?

Some questions I’d be interested in having answered:
What are your favorite books on writing and why?
Do you have a writing mentor or, if not, who do you wish would mentor you?
Do you use an outline or, if not, what kinds of organizational tools do you use to plan your stories?
What effect does your reviewing books have on your own writing? How about the way you react to reviews?
As you can see, I am particularly interested in your writing process. Good luck on your guest blog!
