Monday Updates

Yay, people are entering my contest! That makes me feel happy and gives me a warm, squishy feeling of validation. Ahhh… Keep it comin’, people, and check out the current entries. A noteworthy entry is Lorelie’s, which managed to be both meta and totally hot. Awesome. Also, check out DQ’s entry… gross and funny.

I’m still not officially back… Gimme a couple of days.

Oh, and the winner to Miss Colette Gale’s contest is… Heather! Heather, you get an autographed copy of Unmasqued, which is an erotic romance take on the Phantom of the Opera. Yummy. Please email me your info and we’ll get you all squared out.

P.S. I have not been able to find nekkid pictures of Jensen Ackles that weren’t fan-manipulated. Sorry, chickies.

Won? Won something? That cool-sounding book? Woot! *scurries off to send email*

I’d enter your contest, but it’s been forever since I last wrote fiction, and I have yet to try my hand at romance/erotica/etc. I think my first attempts should definitely not be for public consumption, although my darling husband has volunteered to critique anything I should choose to write in that genre. ;)

I’m sure this will betray my ignorance in some realm, but. . . what does “meta” mean? :D

Aw, I want to start entering your contests again. But I can barely keep up with my deadlines and blog. You need to write enough for both of us, Bam.

The Internet has failed to produce desired pictures of nakedness? I think that’s the first sign of the Rapture.

Miss Lorelie, it is something pretentious Lit nerds like to say, like “Oh, how Kafka-esque!” and “Very post-modern” (which I’ve shortened to “po-mo,” much to the ire of my professors. From Wikipedia:

Metafiction is a type of fiction which self-consciously addresses the devices of fiction.

It is the term given to fictional writing which self-consciously and systematically draws attention to its status as an artifact in order to pose questions about the relationship between fiction and reality. It usually involves irony and is self-reflective. It can be compared to presentational theatre in a sense; presentational theatre does not let the audience forget they are viewing a play, and metafiction does not let the readers forget they are reading a work of fiction

Ann, if I had the kind of following Jensen Ackles has, I’d be showering in long underwear in my own bathroom.

You need to write enough for both of us, Bam.

Miss Richelle, sure… if you wanna do my Latin translations for me. Heh.

I’d still pay a lot for a picture of Jensen Ackles in his shower wearing soaking wet long underwear.

I don’t know about full on naked but there’s a naked torso shot without any manips done. There’s also all those really twinky cowboy ones too.
