   4 To me, at least, it looks like his hand is resting on the neck of a guitar. The shadow to the left of his hand (and now that I look at it, it’s over the hand too) looks like the ….um…fat part, whatever it’s called. Of course, i’s *all* kinda shadowy, but that’s the point where everything kinda gets blended and faded in and out. Maybe I’m seeing a rorschach test kinda thing….wonder why I’m seeing guitars….

   6 Hm… now that you’ve got me peering at it, I see a fish in the lower righthand corner. We could have hours of fun playing Rorschach in the flames. Levity aside, I agree it’s a brilliant cover. April is just insanely talented. Bonnie wins a prize for finding sexy tattoo man, and April wins another for making the concept work. My god, it’s SO luscious. I want to eat him with a spoon. And all that hot Indian summer sun, the fiery look. His pose says, “I’m the reason you’re going to hell — and you like it.”

   8 Dragon scales? For some reason, my first impression was armor. Of course I’m so freaking tired my eyes looked bruised, so no one pay attention to me.

   9 The fish you see is part of some dragon scales I put in at the bottom behind the names. Well shit, I thought it was a coiled anaconda. You know, for the symbolism and all. BTW, this cover just lends proof to my theory that Annie Dean made a deal with the devil. There is no other explanation for how she keeps getting these freakin’ awesome covers (including at least one that hasn’t been made public yet). Bonnie and Dee have now been sucked over to the Darkside along with her.

    12 Ooh, I like the cover. This is Grade A stuff. This is one book that should go into print so that the cover can be appreciated in all its glory.

    13 BTW, this cover just lends proof to my theory that Annie Dean made a deal with the devil. I admit nothing. But I’ve never had a bad cover. Of course, three of them were done by April, and we all light little candles in our Hail Martinez shrines at night. So that’s no surprise. The other one Bev’s talking about is amazing too, and I hope I’ll have permission to post it all over the place by the time I get back from vacation. No joke, Ann, you need to step back four paces, and quit coveting our girl. From your lips to god’s ear, Mrs. G. I would love to see this cover in print. It’s just that sexy.

I queried there three times over the years, with absolutely no luck. And as happy as I am with Loose Id and Liquid Silver Books, I don’t query any more.

    15 April is ours. EC was clearly too dumb to snatch her up, and now they have NO SHOT. Their lameness will be their downfall. I’m such a Bonnie Dee fangirl that I squee a little everytime I look at the cover because my name is sharing space with hers. Woohoo! These stories won’t disappoint, seriously. I’ve read them all, and they’re all hot like, damn. Sam, Dev, and Jack are all heroes to covet.

The only person there who can rival your work is Syneca and I’m not even sure if she’s still there. There have been some pretty sucky covers over there just lately. Although, it seems that they’ve stopped producing the porntastic covers by Les whatshisname. Oh well, you can’t buy taste I guess. *g*
