I'm sure authors would much rather have false flattery to protect their ego rather than a reader that points out the flaws that most of us noticed. At least with honest reviews they can correct their mistakes (or keep their current writing style, whichever they choose) and possibly expand their fan base. Wow MM. If there's one thing I know, it's that while sure, negative reviews ain't easy, they're also inevitable (we don't all have the same tastes, after all, so how on earth could everyone like the same work?).
