I didn’t mean that I like the Izzie-George-Callie triangle. It’s there and I’m wondering where they’ll go with it. I was actually pretty appalled that they went that direction at the end of last season. I want Izzie to find herself a good guy again.

I agree wtih Dani on the Lucky/Liz/Jason triangle. That’s what of the few reasons that I watch the show.

Yeah, it’s always kind of sad when you remember a book from your youth as really profound or touching, you reread it as an adult and find it was banal or cheesy. Like they say, you can’t go home.
Depends though, some books do hold up to the test of time.

Won’t get that with my book. The better man is the one not chosen and the ‘right guy’ is a real dick at the beginning and only partially redeemed by the end. (Can you say “Spike”?) This is what several critics of the book had a problem with–the non-conformity of my anti-hero into a conventional romance stereotype.

I don’t often read love-triangles, at least not in romance. I often feel the author is beating me over the head with how much better the ‘right guy’ is than the other guy.
I do have a soft spot in my heart for the first triangle I’ve read, a YA book aptly named ‘triangle’ (I don’t remember who the author was). It wasn’t really a romance. It was about three teenagers who were in some way connected to a dying kid and were dealing with his approaching death together and each on their own. Each of them was in love with someone who was in love with someone else, which could have resulted in a huge angstfest, but turned out to be pretty touching. Or at least that’s the way I remember it:)

Oh, and I totally agree about Roswell.

lol, I don’t have a problem with her. I think it might have just been a jealousy thing, I mean…she got to kiss JJ. I think that justifies it. lol. But I got nothin against her, she was my fave in The Adams Family and she was good in Casper, so….yep. lol.

How could I forget to include that? Except Brian wasn’t really a part of the triangle, since Angela had no real interest in him. But, oh my God, I’m such a geek…I just finished watching MSCL for like the fiftyfifth time this past week. Every now and then I need my Jared Leto fix and pull out the DVDs. I used to believe he was a stoner, but now I think the boy was just not bright.

And every damn time the non-ending catches me off guard–as if I didn’t know it was coming–and I’m sad for the further seasons we never got.

Did see this and it wasn’t bad. But let’s face it, I mostly watched because JJ was in it. Hey, what’s your Christina Ricci problem? I like the girl, always have ever since she was a big-eyed tot.

As for Jack-Kate-Sawyer, I might be more invested if I could stand either Kate or Jack, but the pair of them are my least favorite Lostians. That woman bugs the crap out of me, and I’m not much fonder of bossy, listen-to-me-I’m-the-LEADER Jack.

Making the two love choices different from one another isn’t as much of a problem as the delicate balance of making both likeable and choose-able.

I suppose this is actually partly what I meant. But as much the rabid camps are good, it still needs to be believable that the heroine would/could fall in love with two very different men for it to work, I think. (Not so much that the reader needs to be in love with both.) If the reader is saying, “What does [$Heroine] see in [Hero1]!?” then there’s not much of a triangle. (Naturally, if there *is* only one hero and there’s still no reason for the heroine to fall in love, the book isn’t going to work either…)

I refuse to get involved in the Ranger/Steph/Morelli madness. I think they ought to fire that bitch Stephanie for incompetence and Ranger and Morelli can ride the Ducati off into the sunset. Yea, that’s what I’m talkin about.
