Wow. That was so depressing. Now I know why I love romance novels. :)

That is just sad, but so true for too many people.

I think I’ll go kiss my husband now and hug my very remarkable child. :)

“That is just sad, but so true for too many people.”

Yeah, very true. I’m grateful I avoided that particular issue myself a few years ago.

or maybe one/i won’t settle and will be intellectual and expanded and shit and will just still wind up lonely or unfulfilled…. Maybe life is just worthless…

    :-(

Makes it all seem so bleak. Why don’t we all just kill ourselves now and get it over with?

Hey I am in my 30th decade and I have defeated the odds so far! *G*
This video is funny, sad and true to most people.
    But not me! LOL
If I get married we are not having a pool table in the basement that’s for sure.

Hey katiebabs - 30th decade! You are remarkable indeed! ;)

its true for many people and for just as many people the course described would be an idea of hapiness (or at least contentment). typical is not always bad and avoiding something out of fear of it being typical is just silly.
I personaly found this video sad, partly becasue its true for a lot of people, but not becasue of the things they do but rather becasue of the motivation behind doing those things as well as lack of any outside interests (no, marriage doesn’t stop you from having personal development, the characters of this sketch didn’t have anything to develop to begin with, which is why they settle for someone else’s surface idea of good life).

P.S. what is wrong with having a pool table in the basement if you actualy like playing pool?

Hmmm…that was depressing, but how many people do we know who went thru that? I’d like to find myself a decent guy, but do not want children. Maybe I can be one of the few who avoids that boredom??? That’s a happy thought. :D

Reminds me of a friend of mine who memorably said on her hen night: ‘at least if it doesn’t work out, I’ll have been married.’

I didn’t know stick figures could have BABIES!

How could stick figures even do it? Do they have genitals? How do they reproduce?

In other news, Katiebabs is apparently 300 years old. :D

“I will have willed myself to stop breathing out of boredom and defeat”

I have tried that before! It doesn’t WORK!!!

It requires divine intervention. Lots of praying. Then an eraser arrives from on high, followed by The Angel of the Pencil.

(Can I just say I’m test driving Safari and I freaking lurve the auto-spell check feature?)

Well technically she’s be somewhere between 290 and 299. 300 begins her 31st decade.

If you are a “stick person” I wish you happiness in your life.

If you are not a “stick person” then run like Hell. Trying to live your life as a “stick person” when you are not one will suck every ounce of joy out of life.

Shakespeare said it best: To thine own self be true…

Sure, this little vid has its chauvinistic shades, but I think the main focus of it is: Don’t settle. Just because society dictates that you marry, have kids, buy a house… all that stuff, so you can be considered “normal,” you don’t gotta do it. If you want to live a different life that some might consider “awwww… she never got married and had kids… so sad…” but will ultimately make you happier in the long run, shit… go for it. Forget what everyone else might say about it. You don’t have to live a cookie-cutter life.

I refuse to accept that the readers of this site are “empty-headed narcissists,” anyway… :)

    Hear, hear, Charlotte.

I couldn’t watch this when I saw the post yesterday b/c I was in class - but… wow. It made me really sad, and then at the end I kinda wanted to chuckle. I guess that’s the irreverence in me. I also wondered - who came up with this? Not that it isn’t creative and true for a lot of people - but it’s almost mean and vindictive. I wonder if someone had a bridezilla “ME ME ME” sibling…

Damn. That is so freakin’ sad. And here I wanted to get married so I could do everything else that everyone else is doing. Once you hit 30, the years fly by, enjoy the ride!

This will remain in everyon’s head for maybe an hour after that we all will get back to our own stick figure lives……….Ssaaaaaaaaaad but true………..

If the gift of life is such a chore for you maybe you should end yours, spare the next three generations your clever cynicism.

Who would take the time to put together a piece of sh*t like this.
You need a hobby, maybe a more challenging job.

Well, Ed, looks like this here’s a case of misdirected rage. Dionne Galace did NOT create that “piece of sh*t”.

Yep… looks to me like you’re gonna have to get a sense of humour.
